ASSOCIATED PRESSSon by Four Wins 6 Latin AwardsApril 27, 2001 MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Son by Four, the pop salsa group that burst on the scene with its song ``A Puro Dolor,'' won seven awards, including artist of the year and track of the year, Thursday night at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. The fresh-faced foursome from Puerto Rico rode the success of their self-titled album to win the group and new artist awards in the tropical/salsa album category. They also won for tropical/salsa track and pop track, and took home the Billboard Latin 50 Artist of the Year award. The Colombian group Los Tri-O, which won the group award for pop album for ``Mi Gloria, Eres Tu,'' dedicated the award to their country. ``The Colombian people can stop observing the war and observe the talent,'' they said. Teen star Christina Aguilera won twice -- top new artist and female artist in the pop album categories for ``Mi Reflejo.'' Shakira, the sultry Colombian singer, took home the Latin rock album prize for ``MTV Unplugged.'' Also among those honored was Gloria Estefan, whose ``Alma Caribena'' won tropical/salsa album, female; Luis Miguel, whose album ``Vivo'' earned him the male artist award for pop album; and Enrique Iglesias, whose ``Solo Me Importas Tu'' was the winner of the Latin dance maxi-single prize. Carlos Vives' ``El Amor de Mi Tierra'' also won for tropical/salsa album, male. Los Lobos, the Mexican rock group, won the Billboard lifetime achievement award.
